Research and Development Engineer

Global Lighting Technologies, a rapidly growing LCD backlight Company with worldwide operations, seeks a Research and Development Engineer. Responsibilities include supporting current processes as well as developing new processes required to bring new products to market. Potential tasks include running diamond machining equipment and process studies, process improvements, manufacturing improvements and  possible interaction with Far East Manufacturing Facilities. 

Requirements include a degree in Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years’ experience, ability to manage multiple projects, strong problem solving and communication skills, and experience with SolidWorks is a plus. Also, need to have background and experience in ultra precision diamond machining and ultra precision diamond turning processes. This includes operation of machines, tooling requirements, and processing. Candidates should also have hands-on, basic machine shop experience and strong mechanical aptitude. Familiarity with micro-optics and micro-replication processes is a plus.

Global Lighting Technologies is a worldwide developer/manufacturer of backlighting technologies used in LCDs, with 3 manufacturing plants in the Far East and an R&D/Engineering/Sales facility in Brecksville, OH.
