GLT offers MicroLens™ white light guides a range of sizes up to 7 inches diagonal.

1/4 and 1/8 VGA backlights in 4- to 5-inch diagonal formats, as well as smaller sizes, can be designed and manufactured using a minimum number of LED's insert- molded into the backlight. The net result is a higher efficiency lighting system when compared with EL or other LED-based backlighting solutions.

New LED technology can be very expensive, depending on volumes and manufacturer. Since GLT’s MicroLens™ features are more efficient than other light extraction technologies, it is possible to achieve the following benefits:

• Fewer LEDs for equivalent brightness
• Lower power, with equivalent brightness
• Higher brightness with the same power
• Lower costs, reduction in LEDs
