When creating a custom design, GLT values
the importance of engineer to engineer contact
to minimize development time and develop clear
communications. When a new project is begun, a
GLT design engineer is assigned and is responsible
for the development of the mechanical design,
drawing and coordination of any engineering
issues including mold tool design and development,
secondary assemblies, LED selection, etc. for the life
of the project. Two mechanical design software packages
are primarily used (Solid Works and Pro-E) for product
design. Electronic communication and translation to and
from other CAD formats is typical for speed and accuracy.
